LSSU Aquaculture Club

A club focused on producing locally grown, sustainable food
What is the Aquaculture Club?
Aquaculture is aquatic farming. This farming can occur in net pens, raceways, ponds, or closed loop systems. The Aquaculture Club primarily focuses on closed loop systems, and aquaponics.

Aquaponics is a mixture of fish farming and hydroponics, which is growing plants in a medium, that is not soil, with flowing water. Aquaponics utilizes recirculating water to grow fish and plants. This process generates healthy fish and plants, limited pollution outputs, and little water waste.
The Aquaculture Club focuses on the advancement of aquaculture and aquaponics on campus, professional development, sharing research, outreach and education
